I am so excited to write about taking leadership in your life today. This was meant to be yesterday’s blog post. However, intuition (which is the most important thing we must be aligned with) led me down a different path to writing about spontaneity instead. So, without further ado, let’s explore this consequential topic now!
Even if you don’t consider yourself a leader, you actually influence many people throughout your life. It is said that each of us influences at least ten thousand people during our lifetime. Imagine that! That is some power!
Most importantly, if you have children, you are definitely a leader. In fact, you are the very first leader in their lives! Therefore, if not for yourself, then, for them, you should be taking leadership in your life.
When I began my personal development journey, I did not have children. However, when my eldest sibling had his daughter, I instantly decided it was important to know how to do life well because the next generation would be affected accordingly.
In my first episode of The Real You Living Podcast, I spoke about this being the reason why I do everything I do. I wanted to be all I was made to be so that I could lead by example.
Today, I want to help people be successful because I want others – and, particularly, children – to benefit from that. This is what drives me!
How Taking Leadership In Your Life Helps Not Just Others But YOU!
Taking leadership in your life, however, is not only for others to benefit. It is also for you to do so!
For starters, when you are taking leadership in your life, you instantly feel competent. Something about taking charge, taking responsibility for yourself, your life, your results, and your happiness empowers you!
Embodying leadership creates confidence out of being in integrity. Suddenly, you are less fearful and more active. You set goals. You create plans. And, you take action!
As you can see, becoming the leader of your life makes a big difference!
It made the biggest difference for me when my first niece was born in 1988. And it certainly did so when my firstborn made his way into the world 18 years ago today, June 23, in 2003!

Everything I have done in my life – including what has not been easy but was right – has been out of a duty to continue to grow to the next level of my life as a matter of character and calling. I know I am helping NO ONE – least of all myself – unless I take leadership in my own life first.
Taking leadership in one’s life also allows one to look oneself in the eyes in a mirror. Because I have done it myself, I know I can trust myself and my ability to help others release their own potential. And that’s what I’m here on this earth to do!
