DAILY REAL BLOG - Create Daily Habits by Life Writer Life Speaker Life Coach Narah Valenska Smith

Everyone agrees that when you create daily habits, your life changes. The question, however, is how exactly do you create daily habits? What is the mindset AND heartset™ change that needs to occur for you to then take action accordingly without excuses stopping you or other things getting in the way? In other words, how do you make something automatic?

What Is Your Motivation

The best way to find this out is to first ask yourself what it is that you really want. Then think about what it is that you want to avoid as a result of doing what you say you do want to do.

For example, if it’s weight loss you’re after, what is it that you want from weight loss? Do you want to fit into your clothing without struggle or without feeling flabby? Do you want to feel light on your feet and look what you think is amazing when you look in the mirror? You may not want to look like the airbrushed model on the cover of a magazine or like some celebrity or movie star so, clearly, that’s not going to make you take action. The question then is, what will? What do you really want and, more importantly, what feeling are you after?

Schedule Yourself To Create Daily Habits Out Of Your Actions

After you understand what your true motivation is, you will then need to schedule the actions you want to take in order to create daily habits out of them. These things are not going to get accomplished by themselves. It is up to you to make sure they become rituals. And the only way for something to become a ritual is to do it consistently in the timeframe that you want. You want to do something daily? Then do it daily. You want to do something else weekly? Then do that weekly.

Whatever pattern it is you want to establish, you must create and then actually implement. You implement by scheduling and then sticking to that schedule. And you stick to it by remembering WHY you’re committed to doing what you’re doing. If your why is not strong enough neither will your motivation to do what you want to do be.

So, motivation and scheduling. Get these two under control and you will be better able to create daily habits that will give you the end results you want. Which, by the way, I write and speak of this today in particular because, in case you didn’t notice, this is DailyReal blog number 14! 😃
