About Narah (Part 1)
This is not your typical "About Narah" or "About" page with the bio of what a person has done professionally in their life, et cetera. You can click here (Part 2) if you would like to see my biography or at least the personal and professional highlights of my life. Instead, what this page here covers is what I'm all about – what my core beliefs are and why I exist and get up in the morning. Honestly, I think no matter what my achievements, this matters more than anything I have ever done or will ever do.
The first thing I'm about is God. Yes, I'm a believer. A BIG believer. I do not think 7+ billion people on a planet all moving along on a daily basis is any kind of an accident. And that's just for starters. We could go for days on this subject, weeks, years. Plain and simple, I believe.
I not only believe in God, I believe in Jesus Christ. To me, He did this thing called life best. Stood for all. Died for all. BEYOND admirable, to say the very least. I think most people would agree on that. As for me? I adore Him. Again, plain and simple.
I didn't always believe in Him but there's a beautiful, long journey that led me to that point and, in the end, the bottom line is I now know Him. Better yet, I understand Him. Other than, this is what I can say about Him. No one ever died on a cross for me like He did. No one ever stood for Love like He did. Many may have come close, been great, but Jesus? Jesus broke the mold and set the standard of love. That's why I admire Him so and that's before getting into scripture which is so mindboggling that if you can read it from the heart and not as dogma, you'll find a deepening of your very soul even IF you don't believe any of it.
Bottom line, to me, Jesus is the end all, be all and so I believe in giving Him more than just props and respect. Reverence is what I feel is properly due Him and, honestly, nothing but great devotion and love. That's what He gave us – His very best – and so I give Him my very best all the same. In giving up His life as He did, He showed me how to really live and how to really love – full on! I believe it a remarkable blessing and gift and so I wrap my gratitude up in these 11 words: I joyfully and unabashedly love, worship, adore, thank and praise Him. And if you don't, that's you, your choice, your life. I don't love you any less. In fact, I love you even more in His name.
Second thing I'm about is people. Yep. People. I love my people!!! 🙂 I love them just like I love God. Since I believe in the best of everything, it logically goes to follow that, just like life has such a rich history, so do people and so, that's what I want to know. I don't care about anything more in your life than knowing the real you. Truly. When I talk to people, I want to get down to the heart of the matter. I'm not much for gossip or chit chat or general waste of time. I think life is simply too beautiful and too short for that.
I really want to know YOU! The REAL you.
I'm a big believer in non-fiction. To me, it is best, not just in books but in life. I want to get down to the real thing when we're telling each other stories. To me, that's where it's all at. No pretenses around here. It's all soul-to-soul and heart-to-heart.
Third thing I'm about follows that – purposeful living. As life is filled with a lot of everything, I believe we need to be mindful of what we allow in. You see, information is just information unless it actually serves a purpose more than just inform. The overload of it is actually more than just demoralizing to us; it is crippling. That's where we often find ourselves these days. Too much info, too much thinking, way too little living.
So, what exactly is purposeful living? I see it as the best (and only real) way to live. It requires, first, that we be truly grateful for being alive and not just pretending we are. Being grateful, literally, for BREATH – yes, EVERY breath we take. And then, purposeful living calls us to live in integrity, meaning being who we really are and not trivializing our time and life on this planet being what we are most definitely not.
I am fascinated by that. By truly living. By using our time, our abilities, our life experiences and divine guidance to live a blessed life and be a blessing unto others as well. We must choose wisely how we live out our days.
So those 3 things – God (Jesus), people (you), purposeful living (real life) – that's what I'm about, in a nutshell.
I live seeing past the nonsense of this world into what's possible for us as human beings. That's why I write about life, love, God and our potential. In my humble opinion, nothing matters more that these things. Jesus set the bar real high… but He also said we'd do even greater things. I believe Him, I believe in us, I believe in me, I believe in you.
We, human beings, are very, very special people. As individuals and as the human race, we can do better than we have done. Let us rise together to the occasion. The time is always at hand.
With all my love, heart & soul,
Narah Valenska Smith – #BeTheRealYou
